Caring for your Soap: To gain maximum benefit from your soap use within 2 years of purchase, if you intend to keep it for longer, please store in a suitable cool dry & dark area such as a drawer. After using your soap, leave to drain on an appropriate soap dish, soap rest or even an upturned nail brush, this will help preserve the life of your Natural Soap.

We would like to advise that there is an initial transition period to be aware of when first using a Shampoo Bar. This happens because regular commercial shampoos/conditioners coat the hair strands with synthetic polymers and Silicones, these stick to the hair shaft and build up over a period of time, whereas a Natural Shampoo Bar doesn’t, It starts to work by gently cleansing the hair and scalp, which slowly in turn removes product build up therefore allowing the hair and scalp to breathe and over time the scalp will start producing its own oils again, naturally. The results also depend quite heavily on the quality of water in your area, If you are living, or holidaying, in a hard water area, then the minerals from the hard water tend to stick to the hair shaft which make rinsing them away difficult. For this reason we also suggest doing a hair rinse with Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (AVC) or have a cut lemon handy. You only need 2 to 4 teaspoons of either added to a jug of warm water that will neutralise any soap residue, wash away any mineral build up, and condition the cuticles of the hair strands. We find that some users do not need to use a regular conditioner afterwards, they just let their hair dry naturally. Please note that these are only guidelines and they can be found on the brown paper bag that your Shampoo Bar came in, for some it’s just about finding the right method for your hair type.

In the long term, you could use freshly collected rainwater, no shortage of that, and use it for washing your hair, it may be a bit time consuming, but it is a real treat for hair leaving the hair really soft (rainwater is very pure and soft). plus you will only need a little bit of Shampoo Bar to create a gorgeous creamy lather. We always recommend that you patch / Strand test an inconspicuous area first.
